Every year Oxford University Dramatic Society (OUDS) commissions a national tour. The opportunity to perform in multiple venues across the UK is something that very few ever get to experience. Whilst it is challenging and hugely demanding for both cast and crew alike, it is also immensely rewarding!
If you came to see us we hope you enjoyed yourselves! We certainly did.

If you would like to be kept apprised of developments for the Summer 2011 Tour simply click here. It would be a pleasure to have you there! If you are interested in supporting the 2011 Tour, in any way, shape or form, please get in contact with OUDS directly, who will be more than happy to discuss things further. Any contribution, however large or small, is always greatly appreciated!

See you next year,

The Master and Margarita Team

Supporting The Master and Margarita:
FUNDRAISING PERFORMANCE: On the 2nd August we held a fundraising performance at Modern Art Oxford, a fantastic institution located near Christ Church. This was the first time a dramatic piece has been held in the venue, and it provided a unique opportunity to enjoy a cultural extravaganza of art, music, theatre and literature all in one night.

Our guests got into the spirit with cocktails made from premium Wight vodka, and enjoyed pre-show fare provided by Arbat, Oxford's finest Russian restaurant. The performance was preceded by an introduction from Dr. Julie Curtis, author of acclaimed works on Bulgakov.

We are very grateful to all who attended, for their generosity in supporting the show.

The Master and Margarita is an ambitious project, but it was strongly felt that it was not a piece that could be done halfheartedly, and that OUDS' 125th Anniversary warranted something special. The OUDS UK tour is funded predominantly by the resources of the society, and its continuance relies on the success of each year's tour. In a year where Oxford College societies have mostly been unable to support projects going outside the city, we have been fortunate to receive additional support from outside sources. The expense of bringing a show to Edinburgh (not to mention London) increases every year, and the reality of fringe theatre is that returns are always uncertain, and so support from outside donors is invaluable in protecting the investments of the small societies who have backed us, and in ensuring the production has the resources to be the best it can be. Any donations beyond sales from the tour go entirely towards supporting next year's production; profits from sales are divided between our backers, so that they can go on to support more Oxford drama.

If you are interested in helping support the production but would not be able to attend the fundraising evening, please contact our producer hereWe would be happy to help if you have a business or cause we could promote in return.

As well as our gratitude to our all our sponsors and particularly Carfax Educational Consultants, many thanks go to King's Hall Trust for the Arts, New College JCR, Madwag Productions, Esslington Players and ETC (Experimental Theatre Company) for their backing. Our thanks also go to Kingston Grammar School, Brighton College, The School of St Helen & St Katherine and Henley Theatre Services for the generosity.
